A bandwagon fan is one who only supports a team when it is winning. A bandwagon Christian is one who only lives for Christ as long as it costs him little to nothing. Really, using the word Christian in this way is an oxymoron. Jesus spoke to this in the parable of the soils. The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away (Matthew 13:20-21). Annanis and Saphria might be good examples of bandwagoneers. It seems they wanted to appear like other Christians who were selling off their properties and giving it to the apostles to be distributed to those who had need.
