FAITH PROCLAIMED
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world (Rom 1:8 NAS95).
I wonder if Paul, seeing our situation, would be able to thank God because our faith is being proclaimed throughout the world? There are two ways one might interpret Paul’s comment. One could understand that the Romans’ faithfulness was spreading far and wide. The other could be that the Romans’ Gospel message was being proclaimed far and wide. My guess is both are true.
Are you not thankful that the grace of God is still active and bearing fruit? Don't you wish others could express their gratitude for your faith?
Let us pray that God would pour out a blessing on our churches; that He would turn our hearts heavenward. Let us seek the Kingdom of God first.
Many things are competing for our attention. Work, school, church, and family, to name a few. Sometimes we are just busy with life. You fill in the blanks. Contemplating this, I thought of Martha.
Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord's feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me." But the Lord answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her" (Luk 10:38-42 NAS95).
While many things grab our attention, let us never forget to prioritize reading, meditation, and prayer. Remember what Jesus said, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me” (Joh 15:4 NAS95).
[May] The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace (Num 6:24-26 NAS95). Amen.
