“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
The thought that the God of creation made himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men is simply glorious. It is wonderful to realize that God is gracious and truthful.
Without His grace, we would all be lost, bound up in our sin, doomed to an eternity of darkness and agony. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Eph 2:4-8).
Made alive, what marvelous grace, what love beyond comprehension, this deserves our thankfulness, our adoration, and our praise.
