A Throne of Grace
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Heb 4:14-16 KJV).
Do you believe that your old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth you should not serve sin? (Rom 6:6 KJV). Do you profess that you are dead to the law, that you might live unto God? (Gal 2:19 KJV). Do you reckon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord? (Rom 6:11 KJV). If you do, then hold fast to what you believe.
The Bible tells us, As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him (Col 2:6 KJV). How did you receive Him? If you have received Him, it was by grace through faith. Your walk depends on believing what the Scriptures say is true.
When your faith wanes, understand that your High Priest, Jesus Christ the Righteous, knows the feelings of your infirmities. Jesus has provided a Throne of Grace for you. He bids you to come boldly to Him to find help.
Confess your sins, knowing He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you (1 John 1:9). Then pray, believing what He says about the new creation. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (1Co 10:13 KJV). Believe Him and look for your way of escape. You will often find it in prayer.
