Plan Complete

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory (Eph 1:11-14 NKJV).

At the beginning of this epistle, we are told that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ (Eph 1:3-4). Before the foundation of the world, we were chosen to be holy and blameless. Then, God predestined us to be adopted as His children, ensuring our redemption through the blood of Christ. He sovereignly brought about our quickening at the exact moment He determined. All of this happened to the praise of the glory of HIs grace.

Having been saved according to the working of His will, we have obtained an inheritance and have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. He is our guarantee until the final redemption, either by death or the final resurrection.

Therefore, let us be careful not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption (Eph 4:30b NKJV). Let us walk in the light of these glorious truths.

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom 6:5-11 NKJV).

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving (Col 2:6-7 NKJV).
