For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, "HE WHO GLORIES, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD" (1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NKJV).
Oh, how thankful I am that God elected me out of His good pleasure and not because of some human attribute or virtue I needed to measure up. Grace, grace, all of grace, beautiful grace, loving grace that I can’t comprehend saved me. I can honestly say, even on my best day, I deserved the wrath of God. Praise God that he loved me when I was yet a sinner (Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 5:8).
Beloved, do not be upset if you don’t have a high position. Do not think you are of less value to Christ than other more visible Christians. You are of great value; Christ died for you, for you are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that you should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV).
Therefore, whatever your status in life, shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel and go to all who will listen. If they won’t listen, move on to the next. God delights in His children’s obedience. But, whatever you do, do all to the glory of Christ. You are under His authority, so go (Matthew 28:18-20). He will be with you. Amen.
