Praise God Psalms 40:1-4

For the choir director. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood (Psalms 40:1-4 NAS95)

There are times in life when you find yourself stripped of all earthly resources. Yes, doctors can help in many cases, but modern medicine cannot always provide the kind of hope needed in those dark hours. Only God can lift you out of the pit of despair and put a song in your mouth.

David waited patiently for the Lord to answer his prayers. When God did, David praised God for his lovingkindness. But, notice something else David did, he said, “Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord.”

When others witness the faith of someone who has endured trials like David, it brings them hope. Therefore, if God has brought you through something, be sure to give Him praise. You never know who might be encouraged by your words.
